South senior get'er it done

The expression on Chris McWhorter's face Saturday night spoke volumes.
The South High School wrestler had the look of jubilation and satisfaction moments after beating Pueblo West's Delfino Martinez 8-0 in their 152-pound championship match at the Class 4A Region 4 tournament at the Colorado State Fair Events Center.
"It was a great feeling when I won that title," said McWhorter, who is sporting a 35-10 record. "Plus, it also was just a big relief."
McWhorter, a senior, returns to action Thursday when he meets Montrose's Michael Dickinson in a first-round match at the Class 4A state tournament at the Pepsi Center in Denver. The tourney concludes Saturday night. MORE>>
