Colts meet Mean Moose with S-CL title on line

The Roncalli Middle School gym promises to be bursting at the seams tonight when the South High School boys basketball team, ranked No. 2 in Class 4A, takes on fifth-ranked Alamosa at 7 o'clock.
The South-Central League championship is on the line with the Mean Moose (16-2 overall, 11-0 S-CL) currently leading the Colts (18-1, 10-1) by one game, thanks to edging them 69-66 in overtime Jan. 19 in Alamosa. The other six S-CL teams are out of the running for the title with three games remaining in the regular season.
"They know how tough South is - on any court - but especially in their own gym," Alamosa coach Wade Mortensen said. "They'll be fired up and we'll have to match their intensity and aggressiveness."
