Pueblo County running back Myles Martinez ran for 160 yards and two touchdowns against Alamosa the previous time the two teams played this season. The Hornets lost 21-20, and both teams are looking forward to their rematch in the Class 3A final Saturday.

PLAYOFF ROAD
• First round: Pueblo County 28, Sterling 14; Alamosa 52, Harrison 14.
• Quarterfinals: Pueblo County 41, Steamboat Springs 7; Alamosa 34, Rifle 26.
• Semifinals: Pueblo County 34, Summit 7; Alamosa 21, Florence 20.
TROPHY CASE
• Pueblo County: It is the Hornets' first appearance in a championship game. They have gone 5-8 overall in the playoffs.
• Alamosa: The Mean Moose have gone 2-4 in title games. Their previous appearance was in 2001 (Fort Morgan, 55-23). It is only their third appearance in the game since qualifying three times from 1948-1951. Alamosa is 36-23 overall in the postseason.
NUMBERS GAME
• Pueblo County: The Hornets have rolled up 3,627 yards on the ground this season, an average of 279 a game. The Hornets use the pass (59.9 yards a game) merely to keep defenses honest.
• Alamosa: The defense has yielded only 110 points and recorded six shutouts. But after allowing 50 points during the regular season, the Mean Moose have surrendered 60 in three playoff games.
GAME PLAN
1 Pueblo County will need to use its dominant ground game to keep Alamosa's quick-strike offense off the field. Likewise, the Mean Moose cannot allow any quarter-long possessions.
2 The raucous home crowd's decibel level will increase with each Clay Garcia touchdown as he approaches the coveted 50 mark (he has 47). A quick Pueblo County burst to begin the game might silence the partisan faithful.
3 Pueblo County missed a two-point conversion in Alamosa's 21-20 win in the regular season, and Hornets coach Jeff Wilson indicated his team would try for two again if faced with a similar situation.
