Central champions
EDITORIALTHE PUEBLO CHIEFTAIN
PUEBLO CHEERS for the Central High School girls' championship for 2006 in Class 4A state gymnastics. The Wildcats won the title with 175.775 points to edge four-time defending champion Sterling last Saturday.
The individual all-around title also was close. Central's Tara Sisson, who won the all-around title as a freshman last fall, finished second this time with 37.350 total points to 38.050 points for Anna Simmons of Mountain Range. "The whole team, together, winning - everyone pulling for each other - that's what was important," Miss Sisson said.
That's the spirit. It takes dedication and hard work to excel at gymnastics, making Central's team title that much more impressive. We're proud of Pueblo's newest state champions.
